We’re excited to announce the release of the Standalone Copilot experience in Power BI Mobile apps!
Copilot in Power BI on mobile is a new way to get insights from your Power BI data. You no longer have to search for content, open it, and scan your report. All you need to do is tell Copilot what you are looking for, and it will take it from there.
Copilot makes it easy to find the answers you need, right from your mobile homepage, providing summaries, key insights, and visualized answers to help you make informed, data-driven decisions wherever you are. Whether you’re looking for a quick overview of your business metrics or want to dive deeper into specific trends, Copilot has you covered.
The new experience brings the capabilities of the Power BI Service Standalone Copilot to mobile apps, delivering an optimized experience for smaller screens. Just like in the service, you can find and ask questions about any reports, semantic models, apps, and data agents you have access to. Copilot finds the right content to provide you with an answer while respecting all existing permissions.

Getting started
Just like in Power BI Service, to use Standalone Copilot, your activity must be linked to a capacity, Fabric Copilot capacity or a workspace with Fabric capacity. If the requirements for the standalone Copilot are met, a new Copilot button will be added to your mobile home screen. Tap to start a new chat. You can type your question or, if you are using iOS, dictate it.
To help you get started and get faster insights, you can use a pre-defined prompt. Tap on one that best fits your question, then type in the relevant topic. Copilot will analyze your request and deliver instant data insights, summaries, and answers.

Copilot chat offers a rich and interactive way to explore your data that goes beyond simple questions and answers.
When you ask about a metric or a KPI, Copilot will often generate a visualization in addition to answering your question with text. Just tap the chart to open a pane where you can interact with it and explore its details.
If you ask Copilot to summarize a report, the response will include a summary with relevant citations. You can tap on a citation to open the related visual in a pane so you can see which report and visuals Copilot used to generate the summary. From this pane, you can also open the visual in the report for deeper analysis and better context.
Keep your conversation going with Copilot by asking follow-up questions, refining your queries, and diving deeper into insights by chatting with your data.
Copilot on iPhone and iPad also supports dictation, so it’s simple to chat with your data using voice. Tap the mic icon in the chat box, start speaking, and Copilot will do the rest.
Share Copilot insights with your team
If you want to share an insight discovered in the chat with others, just use the Share button from the visual pane to share the visual screenshot, or use the Copy button in the chat to copy the response to your clipboard for easy sharing.
Prep data for AI
Great answers start with great data. The clearer and more structured your data is, the better Copilot can help. Semantic model authors have tooling features to help prepare data for AI.
Answers from models that haven’t been prepped will be clearly marked. You’ll see a message indicating the results should be carefully checked for accuracy, along with a button that you need to select to view the answer. This ensures you’re aware of potential limitations before proceeding. Once you select View answer, the response will appear inline.
